This is the Rapido OO Scale E1 0-6-0 Tank No.B96 , LBSCR Marsh Umber - DCC Sound Fitted Locomotive.
Following the success of theĀ āTerrierā, Stroudley provided theĀ London Brighton & South CoastĀ Railway with a dedicated passen-ger version ā the āDā 0-4-2T ā inĀ 1873. A goods version appearedĀ the following year. This was theĀ āEā, later called āE1ā.
They might have looked like a stretched version of the āTerrierā but they carved out a niche as a strong and capable performer.
Built: 1874 (78 built)
How long did they last?Ā The last Isle of Wight example, No. 4 Wroxall, was withdrawn in October 1960 while the last āE1ā used on the main-land, No. 32694, was not condemned until July 1961.
Where did they work?Ā Through-out the LBSCR system, the Isle of Wight and Southampton docks.
Can I see one?Ā No. B110 is based at the Isle of Wight Steam Railway.
